Dahlia Tuber Sales Policies

Guarantee

The dahlia tuber(s) you receive will be true to the labeled variety/cultivar and contain at least one viable eye (growth node). Please inspect each tuber immediately upon receipt. If you have any questions or concerns please email me at goldenacreblooms@gmail.com within 3 days of your order arriving. A picture or video may be requested for review.

Four days after receipt, you accept full responsibility for each tuber, including but not limited to damage due to improper storage, pests, weather, rot, negligence/poor growing conditions, failure to thrive/performance and/or viruses/diseases.

Once your dahlia has bloomed, if for some reason it is not the variety/cultivar you ordered please email me. I will either ship a tuber replacement in the fall (courtesy shipping) or if a tuber is not available in the fall, a refund for the purchase price of the tuber.

Practicing kindness and patience in all communications will always be reciprocated. During the shipping season, please allow up to 48 hours to return your message.  Even the most organized individual will occasionally make a mistake. Please allow me to correct it rather than putting out a blast on social media.

Dahlia Viruses & Sanitation

Unfortunately virus is very common in dahlia gardens, with the American Dahlia Society reporting that 87% of dahlias that appear completely normal and healthy are actually infected with at least one virus. This means that even experts find it impossible to consistently diagnose virus symptoms without testing each and every plant, which is not a sustainable option for most growers. A plant that looked completely healthy one year, may start showing symptoms of a virus the next.

A serious, commonsense approach is taken to maintaining healthy dahlia tuber stock which includes culling suspicious plants during the growing season. To minimize the spread of disease, all cutting tools are sanitized between plants/tubers when harvesting.  All tubers are hand dug and divided without the use of machinery.

Additionally, my dahlias are inspected annually by the Washington State Department of Agriculture for the presence of disease, virus and/or pests at the time of the inspection.

Even with these precautions, given the nature of how viruses and diseases are transmitted, I cannot guarantee that every tuber is virus/disease free. By purchasing from Golden Acre Blooms, you accept this risk.

Shipping

Shipping is available within the continental U.S. via the USPS.  We unfortunately do not ship internationally nor to Alaska or Hawaii. Shipping begins at the end of March or early April when all freezing temperatures are out of the forecast in my location and yours.

Shipping per order is a flat $15 no matter how many tubers are ordered.  Use promo code COMBINESHIP2025 to combine shipping on multiple orders to the same address for a $5 processing fee up until orders have been processed for shipment (including the printed label).

Local pickup in Lake Tapps, WA may be coordinated to avoid shipping fees.  Use promo code LOCALPICKUP2025 at checkout.

All sales are final.  Once an order is placed, it may not be changed or canceled.

Winter Storage Failure

Our tubers are monitored throughout the winter to maintain optimal temperature and humidity. If due to unexpected storage issues I am unable to fulfill any of the tubers in your order, the cost of each tuber will be refunded. Upon request, a substitution will be offered when possible.

Tuber Limits per Household

Certain varieties may have limits on the number of tubers that may be purchased by a household during a growing season. As a very small grower, I use limits to help share these special dahlias with as many people as possible. Please respect the limits. If your household purchases over the limit, your entire order(s) may be canceled and refunded.

Name Identification

The cultivar/variety name is written on each tuber.  If you’ve compared your tubers with your order and need help with identification, please email me at: goldenacreblooms@gmail.com.
